Sixth month as Volunteer in Romania

Imagine
March, the month that the spring officially starts and one of the most beautiful months of the year. For me, March meant something more. It is the middle month of my EVS, here in Romania. At the beginning of the month, I was the only European volunteer in Tîrgu Frumos, Iaşi, but on the last day of the month, we were twelve volunteers! Starting the month activities, with Florin, a volunteer of our organization, we continue the multiple intelligence workshops, at Petru Rareş Technological school. The workshops went very good. We had everyday participation from the students and they really enjoyed it, especially the music intelligence workshop. Also with Jamal and Martha, who came from Norway, we discussed and organized the last details about the upcoming short-term EVS project we would have at the end of the month. We visited all together Iaşi and Paşcani, a very beautiful nearby town and we connected more to each other. Something important about Erasmus+ projects is the connectio

Fifth month as Volunteer in Romania

Imagine
February, my fifth month as a volunteer in Romania, it was so full of nice people and learning achievements. Everything I learned I will keep it to use for my future plans! If January was the month of organizing things, February was the month when everything we planned got in "flesh and bone".  The first activity was a chemistry workshop by Alina-Mirela Ipate, in our youth center. Many children came, we played, we did the experiments that Alina showed us and I learned a lot of new words with the help of my new little friends.  Then with Mihaela, we visited Petru Rareş Technological High-School and the High-School for youth with a sight-impairment "Moldova" to establish new activities for the students. At Petru Rareş school we did “The Polite project”. It was a very useful project for the students, the teachers and us. The aim of the project was for the students to realize the importance of behaving politely in the school and in general, in society.  In the aft

Fourth month as Volunteer in Romania

Imagine
The new year arrived and I am reflecting about everything I did in the previous year, on all the learning achievements and I am defining all the things I want to do this year. I try to organise my mind and my time, so I will learn as much as possible and I rely as always, on the help of my mentor Dragoş, Mihaela, the coordinator of my EVS project, and of course, on the help of Alin, my Romanian teacher, who I say sorry cause I still can't pronounce correct ă and â. January was the month of organising and planning the projects of the year, so before doing that I did a fast journey to Cluj Napoca. I visited the city center, museums, and Salina Turda, a place that was used to export salt. I sailed with a small boat inside that place and it was so captivating to be inside the earth in the dark with my boat and just to row! After charging my batteries I returned to my base, in Tîrgu Frumos and we started to organise the projects that we will do at the youth center with the other v

Third month as Erasmus volunteer in Romania

Imagine
What a nice year was the 2018! With the ups and down. With a lot of new things I learnt, new friends, new places. The year passed so fast, especially these last 3 months, that I started my EVS here in Romania. It's almost the 1/3 part of the time I will spent here, doing my EVS and I feel I learnt and done so many things that I couldn't even imagine in my pre-EVS life. And all of these thanks to Mihaela, the project coordinator, Dragoş, my mentor and Alin, my Romanian Language Teacher.  Starting with this month, December, we made with some others volunteers of our organisation Asirys, a plan for presentation in Petru Rareş technological school, in Tîrgu Frumos. We visited the school and we talked with almost 200 students and their teachers about our NGO, about non-formal methods of education and about volunteering. We created a program that is called "Fapte Bune" (Good acts) in which the students are invited do some good things for their school, colleagues, teach

Testimonial: My Forum Theater Adventure

Between 15 and 24 November 2018, I had one of the most beautiful and educational days in Romania. I participated in the training course organised by Youth Alma Association, called "Drama Tools for Shaping Youth". We played a lot of energizer games, we learned new non-formal techniques, which I used while I visited the local schools with the organisation I am volunteering "Asirys". At the beginning of the training, we tried to know each other better while creating a path with our life in the last 5 years. I saw that I had a lot of commons with most of the people. But what will be unforgettable for me is a game in which we had to describe our biggest fear and our hero when we were children. The most fascinating was that with one of the 27 participants, we had the same fear and hero. We learned a lot about the 8 keys competences of the Youthpass certificate and we made a collage on the wall of the meeting room in which we were writing every day all the skills we

The results of "The Volunteering Center of Tîrgu Frumos" project

Imagine
The Volunteering Center of Tîrgu Frumos had an important impact on the development of Tîrgu Frumos and the rural areas. During the 13 months of implementation (1 April 2015 - 30 April 2016), 2 volunteer centers were arranged in two public institutions, more than 120 active volunteers were trained and over 370 events (meetings, seminars, actions, activities, performances, programs, projects), which have involved over 6,263 beneficiaries (44% from rural areas), were organized.  Considering these data, on average, a volunteer of the project, organized 3 events with approx. 17 participants. The centers focused on different target groups and helped the project to develop stronger partnerships with different public institutions, which contributed to the cultural development of the community, to the promotion of active citizenship, to the inclusion of more beneficiaries from vulnerable groups and it developed the capacity of the organization. At the moment, in June 2016, the volunteering

Testimonial: EUROPE IS US - training course experience

Imagine
I arrived to Costești, Chișinău, Republic of Moldova on Monday, 7th of October 2013. It was a challenging trip, but I was happy to find myself in such position. After all, it was only the beginning… 9 countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Turkey and Ukraine), 2 trainers (Basia and Meg), an interesting topic (European citizenship) and many things to learn. In the first evening we had the chance to get to know each other and to explore a little bit the area. Starting Tuesday, we have participated to the course sessions, having different tasks (mostly designed as non-informal education): role plays, games, team work, project idea. The intercultural night was a real success, we brought in Moldova a small part of our countries (traditional costumes, food and drinks) and we presented the traditional dances and songs. We learned about active European citizenship and its dimensions (social, political, economic and cultural), identity and hum

Soft people with fresh ideas – European Dignities alert!

Imagine
Young people in Europe are becoming very connected to and interested in the issues, solutions and good practices in the various communities that each one belongs to, topics considered as a great source of information. But all these need a good channel of communication and interaction. At the bottom of a continuous development, a conscious progress or modernization process, stand suitable information and knowledge transmission. Information and knowledge going together achieve a higher degree of efficiency that we are used to normally, especially in an era of digital information and knowledge.  Digitized information aims passing over the barriers, constantly communicating, exchanging remarks and experiences in the fullness of our actions and knowledge. Between informing and knowing lies a more important element – filtration – or better said, veracity and coherence of what we transmit and receive.    For this reason, one of the most useful tools in transmission of knowledge and informa
